"Cigars" are tightly rolled cylindrical shaped bundles of tobacco leaves. They are luxury items. Enjoying the aroma and taste of Cigar drawn in the mouth like aromatherapy is an adult pursuit. The theory is to enjoy an extra special relaxed time by combining your cigar with high quality wine or cognac and single malt, etc. or have an exotic experience by combining your cigars with cappuccino or espresso like a dessert.
Cut tobacco is not used much in Cigars. Several tobacco leaves are rolled tightly to form the finished product. The cap end of the cigar must be "Cut" before smoking. There are 2 ways of cutting, "Flat" and "Punch" and the taste changes with the way you cut the cigar. You can use a normal "Scissor", or use a "Guillotine cutter" for giving a straight cut across the cross-section, or use a "Hole punch cutter" to make a small hole in the cap of the cigar. Smaller the cut section, stronger is the flavor and aroma and vice versa. Small holes give you a feeling that is similar to sipping alcohol with a straw.
Cigars are very delicate. Using oil lighters or normal matches is strictly prohibited as they impart a superfluous smell and influence the taste of the cigar!! Cedar wood matches, gas lighters or torch lighters must be used to light the cigars. How you light the cigar is very important to thoroughly enjoy their taste. Hold the cigar at 45 degree angle over the flame, turning it slowly till the entire rim of the cigar begins to glow. It may take around 1 minute to light a Cigar. You can light the cigar even without holding it in your mouth, so you don't have to worry about the flame.
Well, I am sure that all of you have enjoyed every minute of this adult time…Sorry! I forgot to mention one important point. Before smoking, think of how much time you have for enjoying your smoke and then select the cigar. You can choose smaller cigars if you have 15 to 20 minutes and longer ones for an hour's enjoyment. How about setting aside some time for yourself and spending an exotic night before a holiday - with just your cigar!
※ It depends on your taste, but I will not recommend extinguishing a lighted cigar and using it again later as the cigar definitely looses its taste and flavor on doing so. Cigars are meant for a rich experience!
